Eduard Hayco, founder of Dancesport Team Cebu City, said that this feat, which is for each and every Cebuano, is a testament to how far a community goes when they help each other.
“Not only does this accomplishment dramatize the Cebuanos’ innate artistic and intellectual passion for dance, it also epitomizes Cebu’s much-envied spirit of volunteerism,” said Hayco.
“Last year, it was just an idea. I am so surprised that Cebuanos can do it and so fast,” said Korina Sanchez, ABS-CBN Broadcaster.
"The most important thing here is the sense of community. This is essential for development. To get young people involved in such a huge project would give them a sense of belongingness” said Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña.
Education consultant Joy Young said he was also impressed by the strong spirit of volunteerism shown. "We very proud of all of you. Each and everyone of you are the ones breaking the world record. I’m very proud to see young people lead the way.”
