THANKS TO YOU !

The semester has just ended and it is amazing to see how great tasks were achieved. These would not have been possible without the help of the student nurses, clinical instructors, administrators and volunteers of UC Nursing CESDEV. The video presentation below is our way of saying ... Thanks To You.

We're looking forward for more productive semesters ahead with you. Again, great thanks you all of you!

SELFLESSNESS

Nice story. READ and appreciate the value of selflessness.
Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at Stanford Hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness. The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, "Yes, I'll do it if it will save Liz."
As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheeks. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away?"
Being young, the boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister all of his blood.

OCTOBER 29, HOLIDAY !

LET'S PRAY FOR PEACE

On October 19, an explosion occurred inside Glorietta 2. Eight people were confirmed to have died via shrapnel wounds and at least 126 others were injured. The explosion was first reported to be due to an accidentally ignited LPG tank from Luk Yuen Noodle House. However due to the extensive damage caused by the explosion, the Philippine National Police ruled out the scenario and consider the cause as a bomb.

As of 7:30 PM (UTC +8), the blast has reportedly claimed at least nine fatalities and more than 100 were injured. Many of the victims were rushed on to the Makati Medical Center and the Ospital ng Maynila.

Let us be vigilant and pray for the repose of the souls of those who died, courage for the casualties, and safety for our friends and loved ones.

PRAYER FOR FINAL EXAMINATIONS

Dearest student nurses, as you hurdle your Final Examinations starting tomorrow, may you be enlightened by this prayer so that you will be more than prepared to take this last test for this term.
God, my Father, I ask your blessing as I prepare for this exam. Help me to have confidence in the gifts you have given, and in the study I have done. Through your Holy Spirit, calm my nerves and ease my anxiety, so that I may more freely respond to the questions asked. Through these tests, may I grow in awareness of what you are asking me to do with my life; Help me to respond with courage, love and lasting dedication to your will. May Our Lady; Mary, the mother of Jesus bless me. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
