News5 (formerly ABC News and Public Affairs and TV5 News and Public Affairs) is the network's News and Information programming block of programs aimed at reporting with militancy for change and action since April 2010.
It is also the first local news department to report via Live-Pack in contrast to the OB Vans used by its competitors; the use of a visual news set; the first news FM station known as Radyo5 92.3 News FM and the first 24-hour Filipino language free TV news channel known as AksyonTV.
News5 is headed by broadcast journalists Luchi Cruz-Valdez, David Jude Sta. Ana (News Operations) and Patrick Paez (News Production).
