The Philippine Postal Office (PhilPost) will issue limited edition stamps of the Blessed Pope John Paul II in May. PhilPost said the limited edition stamps will feature the life and times of the blessed pontiff.
“In his 26 years of pontificate, the Philippines [has] found a special place in the heart of Pope John Paul II whom he considered a bastion of Christianity in Asia. Until his death in 2005, His holiness has made pastoral visits in 1981 in different places in the country which included Manila, Cebu City, Davao City, Bacolod City, Iloilo City, Legazpi City, Morong, Bataan, and Baguio City,” the PhilPost said in a press statement.
Stamps enthusiasts and collectors may avail of the stamps at the Postage and Philatelic Department located at the historic Manila Central Post Office Building in Liwasang Bonifacio.
