All first year student nurses of UC Banilad had to plant malunggay seeds in a mini-nursery or seedling bank at the Parking Lot in Sitio Baca hoping that by the time we all come back after the holiday break, the seeds would have already germinated. This activity is in relation to the Third Wave of Malunggay Planting in our adopted community, Barangay Kalunasan.
To our blog followers, you may recall that we launched this activity last January 2009 where student nurses planted malunggay cuttings along the side of the road. The launching was the First Wave of the program.
This program had its Second Wave when CESDEV NUrsing coordinated with Kalunasan Elementary School to plant malunggay within the premises of the school participated by their pupils.
The Third Wave will involve house-to-house distribution of malunggay seedlings as well as information dissemination about the value of malunggay. This activity is targeted for the first quarter of 2011.
