Dylan Wilk had US$40 million in cash and a silver BMW M3, but he wanted so much more than just being known as the ninth-richest Briton under 30. He craved a more fulfilling obsession besides selling computer games via the Web and direct mail through his start-up firm, GamePlay.
He discovered a new passion with a Philippine non-governmental organisation called Gawad Kalinga which, as the name suggests, makes donors "give care" and not just money, by involving them in the construction of homes and the lives of the poor beneficiaries.
Now 30, the former GamePlay owner has since built 80 homes from the sale of his BMW. He is Gawad Kalinga's roving international volunteer and has inspired at least three wealthy Filipinos to sell off their luxury cars.
