Atty. Augusto W. Go is known both in the academe and Cebu’s business community. Atty. Go, President of the University of Cebu (UC), which enrolled over 40,000 students this year, is also Chairman of the Board of Aspac Rural Bank Inc., Cebu Central Realty Corp. (Elizabeth Mall), Cebu Coliseum Complex Inc., Metro Ferry Inc., Visayan Surety and Insurance Corp. and AWG Development Corp. He is also Chairman of the Board of the College of Technological Sciences-Cebu, President of Cebu Eastern College and a Member of the Board of Sacred Heart School-Jesuits. Atty. Go, who is married to Elizabeth Gan and father of Yvette Candice Gotianuy, also sits as Chairman of the Board of Skyliner Services Corp. and Toyota Cebu City Inc. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Salcon Power Corp., Hyundai Cebu Inc., Chong Hua Hospital/Asociacion Benevola de Cebu and East West Banking Corp.
Aside from his business affiliations, Go has been serving the government as Honorary Consul General to the Republic of Korea in Cebu since 2003. Atty. Go also served as Director of the National Power Corp. from 1992 to 1998. In 1987, he was appointed Vice Mayor of Cebu City after sitting as city councilor in 1986. He is a recepient of the Dr. Jose P. Rizal Award for Excellence in the field of education and has also been bestowed the Great Cebuano award by the Province of Cebu and the Sugbuanong Komentaristang Nagpakabana (SUKNA).
