VOTERS EDUCATION FORUM IN UC BANILAD

Hundreds of youth voters attended the Voters Education Forum sponsored by the National Youth Commission (NYC) along with CESDEV-Nursing and other youth organizations at the University of Cebu-Banilad campus yesterday afternoon.

Lawyer Lesley Cordero, NYC commissioner said youth voters must familiarize themselves with the new automated election system days before the elections. Those who attended the forum were able to simulate a mock elections using ballots that are similar to the ones which will be used during the actual elections. These ballots were then inserted into the PCOS (Precinct Count Optical Scanner) Machine for automatic reading.

The youth voters who are mostly first-time voters were also given the chance to air their concerns ably answered by a COMELEC Regional Officer during the Open Forum.
