We were in the office last week to do general cleaning in preparation for the resumption of classes after the holidays when we catched this very touching episode in ABS-CBN's noontime show "Wowowee". It showed a special child singing Yeng Constantino's signature song "Hawak Kamay". We were so moved because the song aptly captured the struggles and efforts one makes in this life.
"Hawak kamay, 'di kita iiwan sa paglakbay, dito sa mundong walang katiyakan. Hawak kamay, 'di kita bibitawan sa paglalakbay sa mundo ng kawalan." This is the very same thought that motivates UC Nursing volunteers to continue doing what they have been doing ... to extend a helping hand to those who are in need and in so doing, no matter how small it my be, its significance transcends barriers for it has touched many lives. More importantly, the experiences has given the volunteers a different insight and made their lives more meaningful.
